So, this is my very first post in my new blog. In T minus 5 months, I’ll be departing on a trip of a lifetime. It’s a trip I wanted to do oh, maybe 20 years ago when I graduated from high school, but never had the money, discipline or courage to do it then. What better time to do it than the year I turn 40? I’m more fearless, confident and financially able. The complete opposite of the me I was when I was 18. I was so shy back then that it was tough to get me to speak to strangers in ENGLISH, let alone trying to navigate Europe and the many languages it entails. I find that the older I get, the less I care if I make an ass of myself. And I can guarantee, I will do so… I’m sure I will have to get creative with hand gestures, as I’m pretty useless with foreign languages. I have my high school French, and that’s not saying much. Every day will be a challenge, I’m sure, but I’m used to that. I’ve had my own business for 15 years so I’ve been challenged on a daily basis for some time now! I’m leaving my business at the end of the year, so this trip will also be a voyage of discovery in terms of trying to figure out what I want to do with the rest of my life. Wish me luck!
